ODTUG NOW! 2005 Conference Presents Awards

WILMINGTON, NC -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 5, 2005 -- The Oracle Development Tools User Group (ODTUG) announced the winners of its awards at the ODTUG NOW! 2005 conference, June 18-22, 2005, in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Steven Feuerstein, President, PL/Solutions, Inc., won the Editor's Choice Award for recognition of exceptional technical content and visual presentation in his conference paper, Programming Humility: Dealing with the Reality of Errors, which he recently presented to a full house at the conference.

Steven Feuerstein was also presented with the award for Best Presentation, based on content and topic, for his presentation, Gee Whiz: New PL/SQL Toys in Oracle 10g, given at last year's conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Toon Koppelaars, Senior Database Consultant, Centraal Boekhuis, received the Best Speaker Award for his presentation, A Database-Centric Approach to J2EE Application Development, given at last year's conference in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Scott Spendolini, Product Manager, HTML DB, Oracle Corporation, won the 2005 Oracle Contributor of the Year Award, which goes to an Oracle employee who has provided outstanding effort, time, and information to assist ODTUG in providing value to its members.

Jerry Ireland, Cofounder, Rightsizing, Inc., was honored by receiving the ODTUG Volunteer Award for 2005 for donating his time and expertise throughout the years to the Oracle Development Tools User Group.

Steven Feuerstein is the first person to ever receive two awards at a single ODTUG conference. "This comes as no surprise," remarked David Anstey, president of ODTUG.
