Offering a Helping Hand for Volunteers of America This September

Community Choice Financial Accepting Donations at More Than 500 Retail Storefronts in 15 States

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - September 15, 2014) - Throughout the month of September, Community Choice Financial will be accepting donations in its retail stores to support Volunteers of America through its Helping Hands Campaign. The campaign will benefit the organization's efforts throughout Ohio and at dozens of other affiliates across the country to offer support to vulnerable families, children and seniors.

"We are honored to support the important work they do to ensure vulnerable Americans have a way to lift themselves up from their current situations to move toward a brighter future," said Kyle Hanson, president of Community Choice Financial. "Our employees are truly dedicated to making a difference and work hard to raise funds for Volunteers of America every year. We encourage everyone to stop in our stores to make a donation."

The Helping Hands Campaign is an effort to reach out to the needy with shelters, food pantries, job training, counseling and more.

In 2012, Community Choice Financial raised $140,000 for the Volunteers of America Helping Hands Campaign through sales of Helping Hands cutouts that are also displayed at the stores. In 2013, Community Choice Financial raised $170,000, and has set an ambitious goal to raise $200,000 this year.

"Community Choice Financial understands the needs of some of our most vulnerable residents," said Dennis Kresak, president and CEO of Volunteers of America of Greater Ohio. "They provide tremendous support for Volunteers of America and work with us to provide a bridge to Ohioans who are working to reach their full potential."

Volunteers of America is a nonprofit organization that operates nationwide to provide services to the most vulnerable. The organization offers hundreds of human services programs, like health care and housing. The donation from Community Choice Financial Services will support Volunteers of America's mission, which helps 34,000 people in the Greater Ohio area and approximately 2 million across the country annually. Volunteers of America was established in 1896. The organization is faith-based and runs a ministry service that focuses on providing support to vulnerable groups such as at-risk youth, senior citizens, those returning from incarceration, veterans, those with disabilities, and those recovering from addictions.
