THUNDER BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 3, 2011) - On Tues., Oct. 4, and only days before the provincial election, OFL President Sid Ryan will join Thunder Bay-Superior North and Thunder Bay—Atikokan NDP candidates Steve Mantis and Mary Kozorys for a media conference hosted by the Thunder Bay and District Labour Council (TBDLC).
Ryan, whose provincial election stops today included Sudbury and North Bay, will be urging union members and all workers to use the power of their vote to ensure a NDP victory.
"Health care, education and the absolutely vital issues of jobs and the area's economy are at stake in this election," said Ryan who is warning that the Tory and Liberal platforms pushing more corporate tax breaks at the expense of public services and worse jobs will only impair the North's ability to sustain the difficult times ahead.
