OFL to Comment on Ontario's Historic Minimum Wage Report

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 27, 2014) - After deliberating since June 2013, Ontario's Minimum Wage Advisory Panel is scheduled to publicly release its final recommendations to government today at 3:00 pm. This report is rumoured to contain historic recommendations that, if implemented, could set the stage for a vital shift in government policy for Ontario's low wage earners.

"After languishing at $10.25 an hour since 2010, the province's one million minimum wage earners cannot wait any longer for relief," said Ryan. "By investing in people, Wynne has an opportunity to help working people provide for their families while kick-starting our economy."

Ontario Federation of Labour President Sid Ryan will be available immediately following the release of the report to comment on its implications for working people in Ontario.
