Ohio Technology Company Launches K-12 Mobile Safety App to Quickly Help Account for Students During Emergencies

Featuring Class Rosters and Secure Communication Alerts, App Fosters Enhanced Communication Among Staff

NEW PHILADELPHIA, OH--(Marketwired - November 09, 2015) - Ohio-based safety technology company, Lauren Innovations, announces the launch of NaviGate Respond, a new K-12 mobile safety app designed to quickly help ensure students are accounted for during a school emergency.

Available on administrator, teacher and staff mobile devices, the mobile app features a user-friendly dashboard that provides school personnel the ability to instantly view building and class roster information that is synced with the school's Student Information System (SIS). Personnel can reference the total number of students enrolled in the school, the total number of students in each class, specific class rosters for individual classes, and a breakdown of how many students are unaccounted for within the building as well as within each class.

Additionally, personnel can also view the names of the students who are unaccounted for and, if a student is with them, quickly account for them. This is also extremely helpful for first responders. Upon arriving on the scene, administrators and teachers can immediately inform responders exactly who is missing or unaccounted for in each class so responders can act accordingly.

"Unfortunately, a fire, natural disaster or bomb threat, for example, can unexpectedly hit a school at any time and students may not be in their designated classroom when it does," said Jim Hummel, President, Lauren Innovations. The app also features a fast and highly secure alert communication system that is designed to quickly and easily send messages to staff during an emergency, fostering improved communication among school personnel. Alerts can be sent from administrators to specific individuals or to the entire school staff. If needed, staff members have the ability to send a direct response back to the administrator.

The NaviGate Respond app is also intended for use during crisis preparedness training drills.
