Oil-Dri Expands Blue Mountain Production Facility in Tippah County, MS to Support New Product Launch

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Jul 12, 2011) - Oil-Dri Corporation of America, the world's largest manufacturer of cat litter, today celebrates the expansion of its Blue Mountain, Mississippi production facility to increase capacity for a new line of Cat's Pride cat litters.

Oil-Dri's subsidiary, Blue Mountain Production Company, completed a $9 million expansion constructed by local businesses and supported by many county and state agencies. The expansion, which increases the facility by 41,000 square feet, includes improved automated systems that produce high quality products and increase worker productivity. The company believes that this expansion will further business growth and spur job creation.

Oil-Dri employs approximately 150 local residents at its Blue Mountain and Ripley Production plants and is one of the top five employers in the county. Oil-Dri began manufacturing in the county in 1963. The company is proud of its record of being a good corporate citizen.
