Old Guys Rule Becomes a "Hot" Commodity Just in Time for the Holidays

Founder Named One of Orange County's "25 Hottest" of 2010; New Holiday Collection Line-Up Announced

SAN CLEMENTE, CA--(Marketwire - November 9, 2010) -  The man who created a lifestyle brand that resonates as a badge of honor among men "of a certain age" around the world has been named one of the hottest in the trend and innovation capital of Orange County, California.

Don Craig, who founded Old Guys Rule in 2003 as a way to honor the wisdom of his father and to help other mature men celebrate their life accomplishments, was selected as one of the Hottest 25 People in Orange County by Churm Media's OC Metro Magazine. In just seven years, the brand can now be found at approximately 1,400 retail locations in the U.S., the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.

The Hottest 25 awards, now in its 21st year, were also given to luminaries such as: Colin Badin, CEO, Oakley; Rick Hadley, CEO, Hawaiian Springs bottled water; Mo Honarkar, CEO and president, Verizon 4G Wireless; and the "Magnificent Six," who despite physical and financial challenges, scaled Mount Everest.

"The Hot 25 award is validation that Old Guys Rule has had a major impact on Baby Boomers and has given them something they can wear with pride," said Craig.

The Hot 25 award for Old Guys Rule comes on the heels of announcing the company's holiday line-up, which features new designs and products geared toward auto and racing enthusiasts, skiers, hikers, campers, kayakers, fishermen, mountain bikers, grill masters, car enthusiasts, dog owners, and more.

The collection also includes new designs for its popular John Wayne Collection, of which a percentage of each purchase is donated to the John Wayne Cancer Foundation. Since 2008, more than $100,000 has been raised for the foundation, whose mission is to bring courage, strength and grit to the fight against cancer.

A sampling of the new holiday collection includes:

  • The launch of the brand's new super-soft, French Terry V-neck sweat shirts, each embroidered with a subtle, tonal left-chest logo and available in several colors.
  • Completely new, finely sanded brush twill cap embellished with a debossed and weathered leather patch.
