Olympian, Emilie Fournel Basks in Double Gold in Regina, Saskatchewan

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Oct. 4, 2010) - If you don't yet know the name "Emilie Fournel", keep your ear to the ground because that will likely change soon.

The 24 year-old Olympian has been steadily gaining momentum since she began competing seriously as a sprint canoe/kayaker in 2001.

Years of consistent training and hard work earned Emilie a spot on the Canadian Olympic team, launching her Olympic career and granting her the incredible opportunity to participate in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

While Emilie enjoys travelling abroad, she is extremely proud of her closer-to-home achievements. Her recent double gold win at the National Canadian Canoe/Kayak Sprint Championships in Regina, Saskatchewan, was a just reward for this talented athlete, who is poised to compete in the London Olympic Games in 2012.

Though Emilie has always worked hard to achieve her goals, canoeing and kayaking do seem to paddle through her veins. Emilie's father Jean, was also a sprint canoe/kayaker who competed at the Montreal Olympics in 1976.

Emilie's sponsor, Canus Inc. is extremely proud of her achievements. "We are so happy to support such a dedicated athlete like Emily Fournel," said André Beauregard, President of Canus. "From the very beginning we knew that Emilie's unique talents would take her far. She is a great role model for both young and older women, and truly personifies the healthy, natural image that represents the values of our Caprina brand products. We wish her the best of luck in Mexico, in October, and look forward to seeing her at the London Olympics in 2012!"

Emilie will be competing at the Pan American Canoe/Kayak Championships, in Mexico City, Mexico October 8th to 10th.
