Olympus Releases OM-D E-M10 Mark II, 16.1MP Live MOS Sensor, 5-Axis Image Stabilization System, More Info: B&H

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - August 26, 2015) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of the Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II, the next upgrade to Olympus’s popular line of OM-D Micro Four Thirds mirrorless cameras. The biggest improvement in the Mark II is the inclusion of sensor-shift type 5-axis image stabilization, providing up to four stops of compensation with any lens in use, drastically helping to remove the appearance of camera shake in stills and movies. The Mark II has a 16.1MP 4/3 Live MOS sensor and uses the same TruePic VII Image Processor as its predecessor, but bumps up the burst shooting from 8 to 8.5 fps while also improving focus accuracy and adding a silent electronic shutter with speeds up to 1/16,000 second. Focus bracketing is also available for shooting stacked macro images, with extended depth of field, when using Micro Four Thirds AF lenses.

Also improved is the new OLED EVF, with a resolution increase to 2.36-million dots from 1.44-million, and a magnification increase to 0.62x from 0.57x. The 3.0" 1.04m-dot touchscreen LCD tilts down 45° and up 85° for a variety of shooting angles, and it has an AF Targeting Pad so you can adjust the focus point without removing your eye from the viewfinder. Larger knurled control dials and a redesigned grip help improve the camera's ease of use and ergonomics.

Full HD video recording is available, with the Mark II adding 60p, 50p, 30p, 35p, and 24p frame rates, as well as a selection of 50 Mbps IPB or 77 Mbps All-I recording compression's. 4K time-lapse movies, high-speed 120 fps VGA movies, and clips are also added to the Mark II, as well as built-in Wi-Fi for quickly and easily sharing imagery or remotely controlling the camera with a smartphone via the Olympus Image Share app.
