OMA Announces 2012 Awards of Excellence Recipients

The 2012 Ontario Museum Association (OMA) Annual Conference will take place in Niagara Falls October 17-19. This special 40th Anniversary Conference will bring together more than 250 museum professionals, volunteers, students and stakeholders from across Ontario to learn, explore and network. On Thursday, October 18, the OMA will recognize excellence in museum work in Ontario as the 2012 Awards of Excellence are presented with the Honourable Michael Chan, Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport in attendance.

The OMA Annual Conference, Destination: Museum!, will be held at the Marriott Gateway on the Falls in Niagara Falls, Ontario from October 17-19, 2012. Following the Opening Reception at the new Niagara Falls History Museum on Wednesday, October 17, numerous sessions will be taking place over two days, with Ignite rapid-fire presentations and plenaries with Mark O'Neill, President and CEO, CMCC (Canadian Museum of Civilization, Canadian War Museum) and Diarmuid Nash, Partner, Moriyama & Teshima Architects.

The Ontario Museum Association is a not-for-profit member organization that builds capacity among institutions and individuals active in Ontario's museum sector. Over the past year, three million visitors to Ontario's 600 community museums experienced programs and exhibitions which tell our collective story and contribute to our identity and sense of place.
