Omaha's Leading KOOO-FM 'The Big O' Turns Listeners Into Music Directors With Listener Driven Radio (LDR) Technology

CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwire - May 10, 2011) - Omaha's KOOO-FM (Big O 101.9) has teamed up with Listener Driven Radio ( to launch interactive "Whatever YOU Want" workdays on the popular adult hits station.

With LDR's innovative technology, KOOO-FM's listeners now decide which songs play next on the radio station that plays '80s, '90s and "whatever." KOOO-FM Operations Manager Nevin Dane said the station is taking the "whatever" part of its playlist to new extremes and transforming the station into a true Omaha-listener directed radio station. "This is Listener Driven Radio -- the first of its kind in Omaha. Listeners have control of our playlist during the workday when they listen live via the stream at from their office computer, smartphone, or any mobile device," said Dane.

Big O is the first in Omaha to offer this new social music experience from Listener Driven Radio. Dane explains that it's a marriage of on-air and online that offers the most appeal for the audience.
