OMERS Named One of Best 50 Employers in Canada

Survey results based on employee feedback; company ranks 33rd

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Nov. 7, 2013) - A focus on leadership development and employee engagement has earned the OMERS Enterprise recognition as a Best Employer in Canada for the sixth consecutive year.

The list of 50 winning workplaces was compiled by Aon Hewitt after reviewing employee engagement levels at more than 280 organizations and about 280,000 employee survey responses. The ratings are based on employee feedback and the results were announced in the November 7th edition of Maclean's magazine that hit the stands today.

OMERS is proud to be considered one of the country's best workplaces. "There is a direct connection between employee engagement and our ability to succeed in our important mission to provide the over 400,000 people who support Ontario's communities with a secure retirement," says Michael Nobrega, President and CEO of OMERS.

Warren Bell, Chief Human Resources Officer agrees. "We know from our recent engagement surveys that OMERS Enterprise employees believe that, together, we are well-positioned to achieve our goals and that our culture of both leadership development and employee well-being have built OMERS into one of the best workplaces in the country."

Michael Nobrega summed up OMERS success: "Our people make the OMERS Enterprise a great place to work. They are the embodiment of our culture, and they are the foundation of the future of this organization."
