Omnify Software Helps Customers Meet RoHS Compliance

PLM Software Supports Requirements for New EU Regulations Effective July 1

ANDOVER, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 13, 2006 --Omnify Software, a leading provider of product lifecycle management (PLM) software for electronic, medical, mechanical, and defense manufacturers is helping electronics manufacturing companies doing business globally ensure that their operations are RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliant by the fast-approaching UK deadline of July 1, 2006. Deadlines imposed by other European Union countries are expected to follow shortly thereafter.

Omnify Software will be participating in the RoHS Symposium on June 13 at the Radisson Hotel in Chelmsford, MA. The one-day Symposium, sponsored by Intelligent Manufacturing Solutions (IMS) in association with Arrow Electronics, is targeted to electronics manufacturers who still have questions about compliance.

The RoHS Directive applies to electrical and electronic products and their component parts and mandates a reduction in the amount of hazardous materials used in these products, impacting the entire business strategy for manufacturers -- from design and development to final output. Omnify PLM is supporting companies with a solution that provides a means of identifying the complete material composition of a part. It can easily classify compliant and non-compliant parts, provides searching and reporting features, and perform analysis at any level of a product's structure. Omnify also allows manufacturers to store all of the materials declarations/certificates of compliance from suppliers.

"In order to implement and maintain compliance, manufacturing companies need to rely on software solutions that can store complete part classification information and vendor supplied documentation, provide full product analysis features, and allow users to easily extract the necessary data during audits," said Chuck Cimalore, Omnify CTO. "Omnify provides our customers with all of these necessary features in an easy to use and cost-efficient way."

Among the companies that are utilizing Omnify Software for compliance objectives are LuminentOIC, Agfa, and Mangrove Systems. Marco Comerchero, Director of Information Technology for LuminentOIC, stated, "We have been working on design and re-qualification of our products to meet RoHS compliance for more than a year. The Omnify PLM solution has facilitated our RoHS compliant supply chain management directives easily and cost-effectively."
