NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Jan 14, 2014) - Omnigon, a New York-based digital consultancy with clients in the sports, media and entertainment industries, is expanding its global footprint having just opened its first business development office outside the US. Alex Chamberlen has been hired as Managing Director of Omnigon UK where he will be responsible for growing the business internationally.
Chamberlen's focus will be on building the Omnigon brand in the UK and beyond while generating and managing business opportunities. He will work closely with the Senior Management Team in New York, in addition to the designers and developers in the New York, Kiev and Toronto offices.
Alex comes to Omnigon with over 20 years of global media sales and 15 years of digital media experiences. Prior to joining Omnigon, he worked at Chamberlen Media, a London-based business development and commercial consultancy he founded. His clients, all within the sports and entertainment industries, had a strong focus on digital media and they included the likes of Engage Sports Media, the Indian Premier League, Bloomsbury Publishing and Opta.
Previously, Alex was Global Head of Sales at Cricinfo.com, the world's leading cricket website. Within his first year, the company turned a profit for the first time, a result of the advertising and sales plans he put in place. Throughout his seven-year tenure there, he helped build overall revenues and company value that led to the successful sale to ESPN in 2007. Before Cricinfo.com, Chamberlen was the Business Development Director at CNN, focusing on the Middle Eastern and African markets. While there, he was instrumental in the development of the network's ad sales business within his regions.
