Omnitracs Improves Driver Training With New Roadnet Anywhere

Enhancements of the Fleet Management Platform Include a Driver Buzzer and Key Fob for Telematics, and Updates to the Roadnet Mobile Application

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwired - September 08, 2016) - Omnitracs, LLC, a global pioneer of fleet management solutions to transportation and logistics companies, today announced enhancements and additional features for the company's Roadnet Anywhere Platform, which provides comprehensive capability for routing, dispatching, proof of delivery, telematics, customer notifications, and business analytics -- all through a single, integrated platform.

The latest release, Roadnet Anywhere 4.2, includes numerous enhancements to both the online platform and the Roadnet mobile applications that are primarily focused on improving driver feedback and coaching.

"By combining all of these elements in a single tool, fleet managers benefit from a central view of data -- that would otherwise be collected from disparate systems -- and the ability to conduct cross-metric reporting, such as comparing a driver's safety score to the number of routes completed, miles driven, or customer commitments met," said Kevin Haugh, chief strategy and product officer at Omnitracs. "If a driver is making every customer commitment but not driving safely, that's something that should be addressed. Our latest enhancements allow managers to develop comprehensive driver scorecards and provide immediate feedback to drivers based on the insight gathered from the platform."

The new version of Roadnet Anywhere also includes a driver buzzer, which connects to the Roadnet telematics device. With the buzzer, managers are able to set specific exception levels and alert the driver when they've triggered an exception, enabling real-time feedback and training.

Another enhancement is the addition of driver key fobs, which allow drivers to scan the vehicle before beginning their route. This associates the telematics data from that route with the driver, not just the vehicle, and provides a greater understanding of individual driver performance.

Updates have also been made to the Roadnet mobile application to improve driver communication with dispatchers and other drivers. A new option for messages from the dispatcher to be read aloud improves driver safety, and the ability to leave comments about a service location can increase efficiency and improve customer service.
