Omniture and Lithium Technologies Partner to Integrate Social Media Into Web Analytics

Solution Drives Optimization of Online Marketing and Support Strategies by Enhancing Analysis of Customer Needs and Activity

OREM, UT and EMERYVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - September 16, 2008) - Omniture, Inc. (NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, and Lithium Technologies, provider of the leading on-demand enterprise social media platform, today announced an Omniture Genesis partnership that will provide customers with a product integration between Lithium and Omniture. The partnership, Omniture's first with a social media platform vendor, enhances companies' customer intelligence by providing them with a more holistic view of user behavior across their entire Web presence, including communities.

Customer communities drive high levels of engagement and generate rich customer data generally not available elsewhere because they are typically more interactive and personalized than other parts of a corporate Web site. Together, Omniture and Lithium enable businesses to capture socially driven data coming from customer-focused forums, blogs, and other community-centric initiatives, and integrate that data with other online customer intelligence. As a result, companies can measure the impact of social media on key business drivers, such as customer acquisition and average purchase value, and optimize online strategies and decision making.

Lithium's accredited Genesis integration augments Omniture SiteCatalyst with community-related persona and activity measurement, such as a user's community rank, whether the user has posted or rated a message, and dozens of other behavioral factors related to the user's interaction with the site, enabling businesses to refine and enrich customer segmentation and engagement analysis. As a result:

  • Marketers can now better discover and act on key insights, such as how community content influences online buying, or how community-related demographics relate to activity on other areas of the Web;
  • Customer support executives can better understand how community content affects retention and satisfaction, and which community content is most useful to particular customer segments;
  • Business executives can use this intelligence as a leading indicator to more effectively anticipate and address customer needs across all channels, creating value for customers and ultimately for the organization serving those customers.

The Omniture Genesis integration with Lithium is available immediately to joint customers.

"Our customers are continually optimizing their customer experience and their online marketing strategies," said Aaron Watson, senior director of strategic alliances at Omniture. "The combination of Lithium's social media platform with Omniture SiteCatalyst offers a way for our customers to understand and act on online trends that may identify better ways to market, sell to, and support their customers."

"Marketing executives need to know how the social technologies they deploy affect buying behavior," said Nader Alizadeh, founder and vice president of business development at Lithium Technologies. "Lithium's partnership with Omniture enables our joint customers to answer that question by combining Omniture's robust analytical tools with Lithium's precise knowledge of users' reputations and the quality of the content those users have created."

Lithium will feature its Genesis integration with Omniture SiteCatalyst at the Web 2.0 Expo in New York City's Javits Center from September 16th through the 19th, 2008. Web 2.0 Expo attendees are invited to view a live demonstration of Lithium's Genesis integration at Lithium's booth #1528 during Web 2.0 Expo hours.
