Omniture Online Marketing Suite Takes Center Stage at Omniture Summit 2009

2,000 Marketing Professionals Gather to Discuss Technologies and Strategies for More Efficient Ad Spend and Increased Conversion; Omniture Developer Challenge Winners Announced

(NASDAQ: OMTR), a leading provider of online business optimization software, today announced that Omniture Summit 2009 was attended by 2,000 marketing professionals. Omniture Summit is held annually in Salt Lake City, Utah, and is one of the industry's largest gatherings of online marketing professionals. The 2,000 attendees included customers across the world and from various industries such as retail, travel, financial services, media, automotive, high-tech and several others. Attendees were entertained and educated by informative keynotes, including:

  • Josh James, CEO and co-founder, Omniture, unveiling Summit 2009's theme of "Lead the Change," a call for attendees to remain involved with and aware of digital innovations because the world of technology continues to advance regardless of the economic environment. James also unveiled the industry's first unified Online Marketing Suite, which allows Omniture clients to leverage the significant amounts of their customer data collected by Omniture to power the optimization of ad spend and conversion
  • Sir Martin Sorrell, chairman of WPP, one of the world's largest communications services companies, discussing the increasing importance of digital marketing and how the agency/client role must evolve in a challenging economy to gain efficiencies and produce the right marketing strategies with the right creative
  • Martin Lindstrom, a New York Times and Wall Street Journal best-selling author and one of the world's most respected marketing gurus, challenging marketers to "smash" their brands and create brand elements that are recognizable even without the company logo attached to them
  • George F. Colony, Chairman of the Board and CEO at Forrester, appealing to CEOs to better understand and utilize technology and realize that the customer now owns the brand, the brand does not own the customer

Attendees also networked with peers and gained insights during hands-on lab training, receptions, luncheons, and break-out sessions conducted by Omniture experts and industry analysts from Forrester, Gartner, Jupiter, and Patricia Seybold Group, as well as industry experts from Marketing Experiments and Target Marketing. Omniture customers and partners, including Acceleration, Backcountry.com, CreditCards.com, Embarq, Food Network, Real Networks, Responsys, StubHub and USAA, conducted more than 30 break-out sessions to share best practices, real-world case studies and answer audience questions.

Industry's First Unified Online Marketing Suite Unveiled

Omniture also unveiled the Omniture Online Marketing Suite, an integrated suite that brings together the company's applications and an ecosystem of application, agency and services partners that utilize and integrate with Omniture products.

Omniture Recommendations

Currently in beta, Omniture Recommendations™ is a powerful application that enables businesses to promote products and content online. Through flexible data and behavioral driven algorithms, businesses can seek to increase conversions by automatically presenting relevant choices to customers at the relevant time. Recommendations can be presented to visitors via any interaction channel, including Web, mobile or e-mail.

Omniture Developer Connection

A new part of the suite, Omniture Developer Connection, was also announced. Available at developer.omniture.com, Omniture Developer Connection is a place for developers to connect, collaborate and innovate on the Omniture platform.

Developer Challenge Winners Announced

To reflect the support and creativity of the developer community, Omniture launched the Omniture Developer Challenge, where developers across the globe submitted new applications and integrations created using Omniture standards-based APIs and Web services. Winners received a total of $25,000 in prizes and each received a complementary trip to the Omniture Summit to showcase their innovation. Their applications are available to Omniture customers and partners at developer.omniture.com

Hila Strong, Web developer with Spark.net, received first prize for the Spark Break-Even App, which calculates the necessary conversion rates needed to break even for paid acquisitions efforts.

"Businesses are constantly focused on initiatives that increase conversion," says Hila Strong. "The Break-Even App empowers clients to quantify any conversion event against revenue. This app is one example of how the new Omniture API now puts the power in the analytics professional's hands. We are no longer bound to the out-of-the-box solutions, and we have greater flexibility in reporting."

John Nguyen, Web developer with Geary Interactive, received second prize for the Geary Search Positions App, which provides Web analysts with the ability to see what page a visitor landed on from a particular keyword together with the paid position.

"Currently, marketers and analysts are getting their data from multiple sources and there is a growing need to aggregate this information into a single tool or dashboard," said Nguyen. "Geary Search Positions is designed to combine search engine page rank information together with keywords, search engines and landing pages. This will present SEM analysts with a more complete view of which variables are having an impact on Web site traffic."

Partner Showcase Demonstrates Flexibility of Online Marketing Suite

HP, the entertainment sponsor of Omniture Summit 2009, and an additional 25 Omniture partners participated in the Partner Showcase, exhibiting joint solutions with Omniture products that extend the Omniture Online Marketing Suite and provide flexible, customizable solutions for businesses. The Partner Showcase included Omniture Genesis partners, leading interactive agencies and Omniture consulting partners that provide business solutions and services around Omniture products. Genesis is a plug-and-play application for customers to automate the integration of partner applications into the Omniture Online Marketing Suite.
