On Board With Hypothermia Protection: White Glacier to Wow Crowds With Live Cold Water Immersion Demonstrations at Seatrade Cruise Global

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwired - Mar 14, 2016) - White Glacier, the industry leader in hypothermia protective immersion suits, gears up for the cruise industry's premier global trade show event with a daily, live cold-water immersion display of the Arctic 25 hypothermia protective suit at Seatrade Cruise Global, March 14-17 at the Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center.

The team uses a 1,000-gallon ice water tank exhibition to display the hypothermia protective suit that's all the rage in the maritime world. For 10 hours each day without exiting the water, a subject will be immersed in the ice tank wearing White Glacier's Arctic 25 -- an operation that exceeds the current standards set by The International Maritime Organization (IMO). White Glacier is also pleased to welcome a special visit from retired U.S. Coast Guard Commander and former cruise line executive, John Sifling.

"Having lived and worked in Alaska while in the Coast Guard, I gained an appreciation for the threats posed by frigid water and unforgiving weather in extreme latitudes. Safety in these regions is paramount so I am very excited to be working with the folks at White Glacier, whose innovations are raising the bar for protection of human life in the maritime environment," stated John Sifling, President of Broad Reach Maritime.

"This is a great opportunity for anyone and everyone to stop by our booth and test out, first-hand the features of the suit, and also learn about the real dangers of hypothermia and what maritime emergency survival mechanisms entail," says Alan Oshirak, Director at White Glacier.

"There is no other product that provides more protection from hypothermia on the market. The Arctic 25 is essential for any arctic cruise or anyone operating in cold water."

The unprecedented design of the Arctic 25 combines body temperature stabilizing technology and a unique blend of materials to protect against the effects of hypothermia for up to and exceeding 25 hours, more than quadrupling industry requirements. The suit is also tailored to be partially donned in 15 seconds and completed once safely in the water. It can endure up to 4 seconds of engulfing flames and protects victims from high impact jumps overboard up to 10-meters, more than doubling the regulation amount.

Additionally, the Arctic 25 is fortified by heavy-duty pre-lubricated zippers and ready for action the moment they are extracted from storage to improve the odds of shipwreck survival. Once in the water, survivors can easily administer first aid, attend to hygienic needs, and eat or drink while awaiting rescue. It has been uniquely designed to be used in several markets including: cruise ships, merchant marines, fishing vessels, recreational boating, oil and gas, military and coast guard, and exploration.

The Arctic 25 can be caught in action at Seatrade Cruise Global at booth L2.
