On Peace Day, Take the Nonviolent Challenge and Join the Race With Thousands of Students that Will Run to Protect Education and Schools in War Zones

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2011) - From September 21st to October 8th, several thousands of students will run for a world of peace and non-violence. In Quebec, there are more than 17,000 students that will take the "run this way" challenge. Run this way is a project launch by the Humanist Network and the international organization World Without Wars and Without Violence.

Sunday October 2nd, families as well as runners from Montreal and Vaudreuil-Soulanges region are invited to take part in the 1st edition "runthisway" race in Terrasse Vaudreuil. The organizers are proposing 5 challenges: 1km children, 2km for youth and adult, 5km (race and walk) and 10km for adults. The race is made possible thanks to the partners of "runthisway": Terrasse- Vaudreuil municipality, Pressenza and HITS FM.

Kilometers run by students and runners will be compiled and donated to the Global Coalition to protect education from attack (GCPEA). The coalition gathers several international organizations: "Human Rights Watch", International Education, save the children, UNESCO, UNHCR and UNICEF. For more information consult the website at
