On The Money Radio on Gwinnett Business RadioX Spotlights the American Diabetes Association

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - June 12, 2015) - On May 7, 2015, On The Money welcomed to the studio Dr. Shealynn Buck and Kellie Glenn with the North Georgia Region of the American Diabetes Association (ADA). Host Joe Moss spoke with these special guests about the dangers of diabetes and how it affects business, and how businesses can help.

According to Dr. Buck, "Adults and children in Georgia are increasingly feeling the effects of diabetes as more than 1,000,000 suffer from this deadly disease, 350,000 of whom don’t even know they have it." The American Diabetes Association is committed to educating the public about how to stop diabetes and support those living with this disease.

Glenn added, "If present trends continue, it is estimated that one out of every three children, one in two minority children, faces a future with diabetes." One of the ways the Atlanta/North Georgia Region office is committed to change is by participating in Step Out, a Walk to Stop Diabetes.

Step Out is a fundraising walk that takes place in more than 160 cities to raise awareness about diabetes and to raise much needed funds to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Happening on November 14, 2015, at Turner Field in Atlanta, Step Out is filled with music, food, kids activities, and local entertainment. Walkers will raise money to help fund the ADA's mission to improve the lives of people with diabetes through research, advocacy and education.
