ON24 Makes Webcasts Easier to Access, Easier to Present

Leading Virtual Events Provider Extends Reach With New Platform Capabilities

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 11, 2009) - ON24, Inc. (http://www.ON24.com), the global leader in webcasting and virtual events solutions, has announced ON24 Webcast Center 4.1. The new release features product enhancements, including support for additional desktop platforms and expanded Flash webcasting capabilities, designed to make virtual events more accessible and interactive for both presenters and viewers.

ON24 Webcast Center 4.1 features include:

-- Flash webcasting

-- Greater Mac support, for both presenters and audiences

-- Easier live Q&A management

-- Highly scalable desktop sharing

"As our new Adobe Flash and Mac support capabilities demonstrate, providing easy access to a higher-quality virtual event is our priority, " said ON24 CMO Denise Persson. "With our 4.1 release, we are extending customer reach while also making our solutions even more engaging by driving an improved event look and feel and enhancing interactivity."

Extending Reach, Improving Effectiveness

ON24's new Adobe Flash support is a significant addition to the company's webcasting service offering. By adding Flash capabilities to its streaming platform, ON24 is extending the ability to reach users on different platforms with rich, engaging webcasts using Flash consoles, animations and live video.

Flash offers a number of key benefits, including:

-- Providing open platform support to presenters and attendees

-- Enhancing the viewing experience

-- Making live video presentations simpler

-- Facilitating increased customization for high-visibility branding

With Webcast Center 4.1, ON24 is making virtual events accessible to participants using any browser or operating system. "Our goal is to extend our customers' reach, and Flash technology makes virtual events far more accessible to end users," said Persson. "Adobe Flash technology is installed on almost all personal computers, so we are, in effect, removing a significant audience restriction." Flash webcasting from ON24 is available now for full-service customers and will be available in the second quarter for self-service customers.

ON24 Webcast Center 4.1 also makes webcasts more engaging for large audiences with the addition of a desktop sharing tool for product demos within webcasts. With this tool, a webcast can include sharing of any presenter's desktop, guided web tours and application and product demos.

ON24 Presentation Manager Enhancements

ON24 Presentation Manager, used by ON24 presenters and moderators to manage live virtual events, has several new features as part of this release. For example, Presentation Manager's live Q&A interface has been updated to provide better management of Q&A as part of live webcasts.

In addition, Presentation Manager now supports the Firefox browser on both Windows and Mac platforms, allowing Mac users to act as presenters in ON24 webcasts. "Mac support was already being provided to ON24 event audiences," said Persson. "Now, with support for Firefox on the Mac, our presentation management tool is as accessible to presenters using Macs."

For presenters, Mac support removes a potential obstacle to getting their messages out. "ON24 recognizes that customers need to support Macs in both the production and execution of their webcasts," said Persson. "This enhancement is an example of how ON24 matches product development to shifting market requirements. It also illustrates that we are continuing to emphasize cross-platform and multi-browser support to make virtual events more accessible. ON24 is increasing its reach across the board with its support for different platforms and browsers. The end result is fewer roadblocks to effective communication," Persson explained.
