One Convergence today announced the availability of the Network Service Delivery Platform (NSD) to simplify and automate delivery of rich set of L3 to L7 network services in OpenStack cloud deployments.
As OpenStack gains traction, enterprises and service providers are increasingly faced with the challenge and complexity of rolling out advanced network services. One Convergence's innovative policy-driven approach not only addresses the simplification and automation, but also the challenges of provisioning, deploying, configuring and operating a heterogeneous set of multi-vendor and open-source network services.
The NSD solution provides orchestration, lifecycle management, service assurance and visibility/monitoring for network services. NSD significantly enhances what is available in OpenStack FWaaS, LBaaS and other *aaS with support for vendor specific features, licensing, high availability, service chaining and common ways to orchestrate and configure a diverse set of network services.
The solution supports Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), OpenStack Neutron and other network fabrics and SDN controllers. Red Hat Enterprise Linux OpenStack Platform was chosen as the OpenStack Infrastructure-as-a-Service base, combined with Cisco ACI and One Convergence NSD to create a managed service provider solution. Sungard Availability Services® (Sungard AS), Cisco, Red Hat and One Convergence have collaborated to deploy this new solution in Sungard AS' datacenters.

In continuation of this commitment One Convergence is contributing in a big way to GBP Network Function Plugin (NFP), which provides an open source version of network service orchestration and lifecycle management framework that can support both Neutron API and GBP modes of deployment. NSD is compatible with and leverages the open source NFP framework.
