ONE DROP Announces the Results of LA SOIREE ONE DROP in New York

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 30, 2011) - LA SOIRÉE ONE DROP, a dazzling benefit event in support of access to water for all, took place yesterday at the mythical Radio City Music Hall, to coincide with the Premiere Gala of Zarkana™, the brand-new show by Cirque du Soleil®. An amount of $ 400 000 was raised during this exceptional evening, in the presence of Guy Laliberté, Chair of ONE DROP and Founder of Cirque du Soleil, and Garou, proud ONE DROP ambassador and headliner of the show.

"Tonight, in New York, we have taken another step towards achieving the dream of water for all—a source of life and a creative force of development," Guy Laliberté announced. "Nearly one billion people around the world do not have access to safe water. I will continue reaching out to the entire world to make the dream of water for all a reality, one drop at a time, one step at a time, for future generations."

New York is one of several cities to which ONE DROP will travel this year in order to create a ripple effect in support of water for all. The funds raised at the LA SOIRÉE ONE DROP event in New York City will be used to finance awareness-raising and water-access projects in developing areas, particularly in El Salvador's Morazán department, the poorest and most arid department in the country.

"I am delighted to join Guy Laliberté in announcing these results," ONE DROP ambassador and New York Yankee receiver Russell Martin said. "Together, we have the power and the resources to bring about lasting changes. Yesterday evening, New Yorkers showed solidarity at this benefit evening!"

LA SOIRÉE in NEW YORK: A show of solidarity

This one-of-a-kind event was the opportunity to support ONE DROP while attending the Premiere Gala of Zarkana and participating in Cirque du Soleil's premiere happening taking place at the Roseland Ballroom. ONE DROP would like to thank its founding partner Cirque du Soleil, Radisson Hotels, Air Canada and all those people and companies who supported the event and who spared no effort to ensure that LA SOIRÉE was a magical evening.

Create a ripple effect

ONE DROP will continue to spread the ripple effect in favour of access to water for all at similar events in Toronto on September 7, Montreal on October 2, Los Angeles on November 10, Paris on November 23 and Las Vegas on December 3.
