One Hundred Bollywood-Style Dancers and a Drum Corps Take to Toronto Streets to Launch Energizer Canada's TIFF Sponsorship Campaign

Pay-It-Forward Campaign Offers TIFF Goers Thousands of Prizes

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 14, 2010) - Onlookers at the corner of College and Bay today were treated to a performance of 100 Bollywood-style dancers and a drum corps as the contents of the Energizer mystery box were unveiled after five days of stumping spectators. A seven-foot "positivenergy Machine" emerged from the box doling out prizes to passersby, including tickets to a TIFF premiere. A first-time TIFF sponsor, Energizer Canada is capitalizing on the power of social media to spread the positive energy message with a series of activations using Twitter as its promotional vehicle.

"Being a TIFF sponsor let us be part of an ongoing conversation with film enthusiasts and media," said Karyn Percival-Berry, brand leader at Energizer Canada. "The excitement during TIFF is infectious, and it's that same energy and desire to fuel fun that drives our brand."

Leading up to TIFF, Simon Pure Marketing and MP Thread kicked off a Twitter campaign to engage Toronto's tweet elite and drive traffic to the mystery box and the positivenergy Machine through contesting and tailored responses. Participants in the Twitter contests were vying for a pair of Energizer Bunny slippers, one the of must-have items for TIFF attendees.

"With Torontonians eager to participate in TIFF, even if they don't have tickets to movies or parties, we knew Twitter was an efficient and engaging way to keep TIFF fans in-the-know", said Mark Evans, Senior Social Media Strategist with MP Thread, Media Profile's social media division. "Energizer Canada's Twitter followers are growing organically, driven by informative and interesting content, as well as active engagement."

The Energizer Bunny is taking a break from hopping around TIFF, and now spending the remainder of the festival inside the Positive Energy Machine paying it forward with an endless supply of gifts. TIFF enthusiasts have until September 19 to catch the Positive Energy Machine at the following locations:
