David Visschedyk, a one-legged cyclist and cancer survivor pedaling across Canada to combat neuroblastoma, a deadly cancer that mostly afflicts children. David enters New Brunswick August 21 with his first stop scheduled for Edmunston. He'll continue his ride in to Nova Scotia with his first stop in that province slated for August 25 in Debert. Details of all New Brunswick and Nova Scotia stops are outlined below.

A national event, CanadaWide for Cancer is non-profit and will benefit The James Fund, which is emerging as a world leader in the fight against neuroblastoma. 100% of all moneys donated to The James Fund will go directly into research. Covering 57 days and 6,900 kilometers, David will hit the finishing line August 26 in Halifax.

Drawing inspiration from the 25th anniversary of Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope as well as Lance Armstrong's seventh Tour de France win, David will be following the Trans-Canada Highway, with many major cities and small towns visited along the way. Accompanying David will be tour manager, RV driver, and chef Timothy Knowles of The City Kitchen, a survivor of skin cancer. Funds gathered by CanadaWide for Cancer will go to The James Fund for Neuroblastoma Research at SickKids. The James Fund was established in the name of 8 year old Canadian boy James Birrell to fight the disease that ultimately killed him 5 years ago. Hollywood actor Tom Hanks is The James Fund's Honourary Patron.
