One Plane. One Rope. One Great Cause. The ALS Ontario Plane Pull to Help Those Living With ALS

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 19, 2011) - ALS Ontario is inviting everyone to help make a difference in the lives of people living with the devastating effects of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The ALS Ontario Plane Pull is an opportunity for corporate and community organizations to lend their support by entering teams of ten people to undertake challenging and entertaining pulls of a Bombardier Q400 NextGen airliner. Each team will try to pull the 17,800 kg aircraft as far as it can within one minute.

The ALS Ontario Plane Pull will take place on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Bombardier Aerospace's Toronto facility, where the Q400 NextGen airliner is manufactured. Each ten-member team can be entered for a registration fee of $2,500. Corporate team sponsorship packages, which include signage and recognition on the day of the event, are available for $5,000 or $10,000.

ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig's disease, is a rapidly progressive and fatal neuromuscular disease characterized by degeneration of nerve cells and pathways (motor neurons) in the brain and spinal cord. There is currently no cure.
