One Source Networks Receives Microsoft Lync 2013 Qualification for SIP Trunking

Company Achieves Microsoft Lync 2013 Qualification and Becomes the First Service Provider Certified on the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller to Offer TLS and SRTP for Lync 2013 Worldwide

AUSTIN, TX--(Marketwired - Apr 21, 2014) - One Source Networks (OSN), the global voice and managed network services partner of choice for large enterprises, today announced that its Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Trunking solution has earned Microsoft Lync 2013 qualification. The testing includes completion of advanced, optional SRTP and TLS support, which provides encryption of call signaling and media. OSN's SIP Trunking solution utilizes the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller, which is certified for Microsoft Lync Server 2013.

Microsoft Lync is one of the most popular Unified Communications platforms today, deployed in the majority of Fortune 500 enterprises. It provides an integrated infrastructure where users can communicate seamlessly across a range of mediums -- from chat to video to meetings. Ensuring that a service provider is Lync certified is critical for enterprises that want to take advantage of the full capabilities of the platform and require secure transmission of sensitive media, such as voice communications.

"One Source Networks is proud to be leading the industry in achieving these certifications," said Ernest Cunningham, CEO of One Source Networks. "Our global enterprise customers are increasingly turning to Unified Communications to stay in touch, whether on their mobile device on the road or in their corporate headquarters. Enabling them with a Microsoft Lync-certified SIP solution guarantees interoperability, while TLS and SRTP ensure the security of communications that this market segment expects."

These certifications follow OSN's 2013 announcement of the expansion of its voice network, one of the largest global deployments of the Sonus SBC 5210 Session Border Controller, with four nodes in the U.S., plus nodes in Hong Kong, London and Bogotá. The company chose Sonus' SBC because of its scalability and ability to support Unified Communications, aligning with OSN's 2014 product development goals.

"The Sonus platform delivers advanced multimedia capabilities with support for voice, video and collaboration on a highly scalable, robust architecture, enabling OSN to deliver a seamless, secure Unified Communications experience to enterprises across multiple locations and devices," said David Tipping, vice president and general manager, SBC Business, Sonus. "It is a celebrated achievement to have the Sonus SBC 5210 certified for deployment with OSN's SIP Trunking solution and Microsoft Lync 2013. Together, Sonus and OSN are helping enterprises enhance network capabilities and ensure interoperability with high levels of network security in Lync environments."

"Microsoft Lync enables anybody in an organization to talk to anyone else -- whether inside or outside of the organization. Microsoft Lync 2013 certification is a demonstration of OSN's commitment to helping enterprises of all sizes maximize their Lync Enterprise Voice investments, and we congratulate OSN on their successful testing," said BJ Haberkorn, director of Lync product management at Microsoft. "Proven interoperability with Lync 2013 allows OSN to support enterprises' Lync deployments at all of their sites, no matter where they are located, with exceptional quality and performance."

With its Microsoft Lync 2013 certification, OSN becomes one of only ten service providers worldwide to currently have this qualification level. The company is able to leverage these capabilities to support the diverse UC requirements and deployment models of its global enterprise customer base.
