OnePoint Patient Care Expands Its Local Hospice Pharmacy Services Nationwide With New Hospice Pharmacy Centers of Excellence™

Significant Growth in Patient Census, Prescriptions Filled and Pharmacy Benefits Management Business Accompanies Nationwide Expansion

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - Feb 16, 2012) - OnePoint Patient Care, an independent hospice pharmacy services provider, announced today the successful launch of its latest Hospice Pharmacy Center of Excellence, its innovative new model for serving hospices that enables OnePoint to continue expanding its local, same-day medication dispensing and delivery service to hospices nationwide.

Under this new model, OnePoint creates for its hospice partners a Hospice Pharmacy Center of Excellence in their city to locally fill and dispense medications, create custom compounds and provide same-day deliveries to 100 percent of the hospice's patients, regardless of patient setting. OnePoint also provides its hospice partners exceptional clinical advice, customized formulary compliance and cost management programs, and best-in-class Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) services.

"Hospices outside our original markets have been telling us for some time that there is a real need for our high level of service and customization, so we are pleased to finally be able to offer it to them," said Jeffrey S. Hohl, OnePoint Patient Care's president and chief operating officer. "When they compare the benefits of mail order services, a network of non-hospice pharmacies and OnePoint's Center of Excellence offering, OnePoint is the clear value leader. Nowhere else can they get hospice expertise with each interaction and the full range of typical hospice services such as compounding and unit dosing -- all combined with same-day, local deliveries."

OnePoint's newest Center of Excellence -- its fourth in the past quarter -- launches this week in Nashville, Tenn., for Alive Hospice, the oldest community-based hospice in Middle Tennessee and a market leader in delivering exceptional end-of-life care. OnePoint also started Centers of Excellence in three other markets -- Las Vegas, Boston and Chattanooga -- in the last quarter and expects to launch others in the coming months.

"We spoke with many other local and national providers, but OnePoint Patient Care was the only one that offered us something different from and better than the traditional model of mail-order medications and a complex network of supporting service providers," said Dr. David Tribble, Chief Medical Officer of Alive Hospice. "With OnePoint, we now have a single source for local, same-day medication dispensing and delivery, as well as superior cost management and clinical services. This simplifies the process for us, saves us money and will help us provide the best possible care for our patients and their loved ones."

In addition to the newly launched Centers of Excellence, OnePoint Patient Care has created its own captive Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) platform. Hospices can now develop and utilize their own custom formulary, uniquely define the rules to determine formulary adherence as well as customize administrative, clinical and financial reports. Creation of a captive PBM capability ensures that OnePoint can manage changes to hospices' formularies and ensures timely new customer implementations when a hospice wants and needs them rather than on a schedule dictated by outside parties.

With the launch of its new Hospice Pharmacy Centers of Excellence and its captive PBM platform, OnePoint has experienced significant growth. It now serves more than 125 hospice programs nationwide. Taken in the aggregate across all service platforms, OnePoint Patient Care now proudly serves over 20,000 patients per day.

"We are very excited about our Centers of Excellence and the opportunity they provide us to offer our services to a much broader group of hospices nationwide," said James A. Otterbeck, Chairman and CEO of OnePoint Patient Care. "We invite hospices to contact us for more information about what many of their peers have already discovered -- that there is finally a national pharmacy that offers local daily dispensing and delivery of medications and customized programs that help them achieve the best patient outcomes while saving money."
