Hospice Organizations Look to OnePoint Experts to Provide Insights on Topics Ranging from Marketing to Polypharmacy and Deprescribing

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - May 04, 2016) -  OnePoint Patient Care, a national hospice pharmacy services provider, has an active slate of speaking engagements at upcoming state hospice conferences, where OnePoint experts will address an array of topics ranging from how hospices can position themselves in a competitive marketplace to clinical advice on polypharmacy and deprescribing for end-of-life patients.

"As an active member of the hospice community, we place high priority on sharing knowledge that can advance the field and help our hospice community colleagues enhance their treatment of patients," said Jeffrey S. Hohl, chief executive officer of OnePoint Patient Care. "We are very pleased to be a trusted resource for hospice programs and proud to be considered thought leaders throughout the hospice industry."

The upcoming conferences at which OnePoint experts are presenting are:

  • Florida Hospice & Palliative Care Association Annual Forum - June 2-3. At the FHPCA Annual Forum, Kevin Kirkland, president of OnePoint's eastern division, will present "Differentiate Yourself in a Highly Competitive Market." Calling on his 20 years' of sales and marketing experience, Kirkland will provide hospices advice on identifying their unique benefits and communicating a vision for developing successful partnerships with their referral sources, ultimately leading to more referrals for the hospice provider.
  • Illinois State Hospice & Palliative Care Association Conference - September 21-23. Dr. Rishma Patel, OnePoint clinical pharmacist and board-certified pharmacotherapy specialist, will present "Deprescribing is Good - A Deeper Dive" at IL-HPCO's 2016 Annual Conference - Connecting the Dots. Patel's presentation will focus on the clinical rationale and methods to facilitate deprescribing in select high-visibility, end-of-life diseases.
  • Oregon Hospice and Palliative Care Association Professional Practice Exchange - September 25-27. Greg Dyke, OnePoint's president of clinical consulting, will participate in a panel discussion entitled "Deprescribing - How Do We Help Them?" at the OHPCA professional practice exchange. The panel will address the impact of polypharmacy on end-of-life patients, navigating the transition from disease modifying to palliative prescribing, and identifying prescriber- and caregiver-based barriers to deprescribing.
