OneShield Celebrates Milestone Anniversaries With Customers

Customers Cite Dragon's Flexibility as Invaluable to Business Growth

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 4, 2012) - OneShield, Inc., a provider of flexible, enterprise-class and content-rich policy and billing core systems for property/casualty insurers, is pleased to congratulate Allied World Assurance Company for having OneShield Dragon® successfully running in production for eight years, as well as Capitol Insurance Companies and Privilege Underwriters Reciprocal Exchange (PURE) for having OneShield Dragon® successfully running in production for five years.

"We are excited to share these important milestones with our customers," said Glenn Anschutz, chief executive officer and president, OneShield. "Our commitment to them is exemplified in how they have implemented, extended and innovated on the Dragon platform to deliver operational efficiencies and cost-effective service offerings. The long-term partnership with our customers demonstrates our joint collaboration and commitment to go above and beyond in providing technology that supports their ongoing business demands both today and in the future."

For Darwin Professional Underwriters (acquired by Allied World in 2009), their goal was to deliver high automation to a multi-tiered distribution channel via a technology platform that assured they could be nimble and responsive to their customers. Allied World implemented the Dragon Policy Management Solution while also delivering a complete underwriting infrastructure that reduced an industry standard 30-day process down to 10 minutes.

"We initially selected Dragon because of the total flexibility engineered into the application and that has proven time and time again to have been a wise decision," said Bob Asensio, executive vice president at Allied World Assurance Company. "In Darwin's formative years, Dragon helped us establish our brand. After Allied World's acquisition we rolled a complete set of complex products onto Dragon. We're now expanding Dragon to support our international business and we've been completely self-sufficient given the capability of its configuration tool-set."

At Capitol Insurance Companies, the flexible, open architecture system helped take the company to the next level.

"Capitol needed to move its legacy surety business to a new platform and provide straight-through processing to our agents -- no small task," said Troy Lethem, CIO and vice president of Information Services at Capitol Insurance Companies. "The Dragon framework provided the flexibility to develop the feature set we needed, and facilitated the conversion of 20 years of bond data from two systems. With the Dragon Designer toolkit, our business experts define, develop, deploy and maintain our products to deliver an easy-to-use online, real-time bond rating and issuance system. And the story continues this January, Capitol added a new line of business with a unique suite of underwriting analytical functionality in a remarkably short time frame."

PURE, a policyholder-owned insurer that exclusively caters to high net worth individuals and families, views its relationship with OneShield as a collaborative partnership rooted in PURE's mission to deliver effective, convenient business solutions to its agent partners and policyholders (members), which has resulted in award-winning, innovative service offerings.

"Our relationship with OneShield has provided us with the opportunity to be part of a user community of thinkers," said Stuart Tainsky, senior vice president and chief information officer at PURE. "It has been a tremendous asset to have a partner that views technology the way we do -- as a way to increase efficiency and improve service for our agents and members."

"OneShield is one of only a handful of vendors with both a modern platform and a long-term customer base on that platform," said Chad Hersh, a partner at Novarica. "The flexibility of the Dragon platform has allowed insurers to extend the system without the historical challenges of doing so with legacy systems, such as straying from the upgrade path or losing support."

Both Troy Lethem, CIO and vice president of Information Services at Capitol Insurance Companies and Stuart Tainsky, senior vice president and chief information officer at PURE, will be joined by James Carlucci, vice president, Strategic and Integrated Services at Erie Insurance Group, and Derek Oke, Sr. Information Technology Architect at The Dominion, at IASA for panel session 572 - Uncrossing the Lines: Developing an Enterprise-Wide Application Strategy on Tuesday, June 5th from 1:30 - 3PM PDT.

And OneShield will be exhibiting at booth 714 and participating in two Vendor Connect Tours -- Billing & Electronic Payment Processing - 882 from 9:50 - 10:50AM PDT and the Policy Administration - 981 from 11:00 - Noon PDT on Monday, June 4th during the IASA Educational and Business Conference in San Diego, CA.
