Online Construction Management Software Can Be Viewed With Firefox

FREMONT, CA--(Marketwire - August 15, 2007) - The Construction Communicator™ (www.constructioncommunicator.com) online construction management software is now modified for viewing with the latest open source Firefox (2.0+) browser from Mozilla. This means that Mac and Windows Firefox users will have the same viewing experience as Internet Explorer users, making it easier for the entire construction team to use the construction project management system.

Construction Communicator helps owners, contractors and architects manage the construction documents that affect the day-to-day progress of the job. Specifically, this online software helps the construction team manage Requests for Information (RFIs), shop drawing submittals, change order requests, Contractor Payment Applications (G702/G703) and other contract administration documents.

Some websites that were designed for Internet Explorer 6 can look quite different in the Firefox browser, and some pages can be almost unreadable, explained Richard Sampson, president of Richard Sampson Associates, developers of Construction Communicator. "Firefox has trouble interpreting some HTML pages with scrollable tables that are designed with Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for viewing in IE 6," he said.

"For online construction management to really benefit its users, it's essential that all members of the construction team participate," he continued. "Our compatibility with Firefox eliminates a technological barrier, making it easy for people to view and control construction documents online."

Firefox, which has about 10 percent of the market, is the browser of choice for many Mac users who no longer have the option to use an up-to-date Internet Explorer. Microsoft quit supporting Internet Explorer for Mac in 2005.

With its innovative tab menus, the open source Firefox is frequently updated. "We are committed to monitoring ongoing changes in Firefox, and to modifying our online software as necessary," said Sampson.
