Online Revealed Canada Kicks Off "My Home Revealed" Student Contest

My Home Revealed Contest Challenges Students to Create and Submit Hometown Videos and Compete for Cash Prizes and a Trip to the 3rd Annual Online Revealed Canada, May 12-14 at Calgary's Hyatt Regency

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 19, 2008) - Canadian online travel and tourism conference, Online Revealed Canada, has launched My Home Revealed - an annual Student Contest to encourage students to engage in online marketing education with the Canadian Tourism community.

My Home Revealed offers students interested in hospitality and marketing the opportunity to compete for a trip to the Online Revealed Travel Conference, taking place from May 12-14, 2008 in Calgary, Alberta at the Hyatt Regency. The deadline for entry is April 1, 2008.

Participation in My Home Revealed is simple. Students create videos of favorite places or people in their hometowns, using a video cam or cell phone, and upload to Any student is eligible to participate, and it provides a great opportunity for students interested in hospitality or marketing to promote what they think is cool about their part of Canada, and to win a trip to the annual online marketing conference this May. Online Revealed brings Canadian travel professionals like Yahoo! Canada, Orbitz, The Canadian Tourism Commission, and hotel brands such as Marriott together to learn about how to market Canada's destinations online.

According to Sandie Currie, Director of Media Relations and Communications of Online Revealed Canada, "Our Canadian online travel and tourism conference is about education and innovation, and the My Home Revealed contest is a way for us to promote online marketing to encourage students to contribute professionally to the field."

There are two categories for the contest: 18+ and Under 18. The winner of the 18+ contest will be flown to Calgary, Alberta to attend the 3rd annual online marketing conference from May 12th-14th, 2008. This includes air, hotel, and registration at Online Revealed Canada, which provides an ideal place to network with top Canadian travel professionals. Additionally the winner will receive a $1000 cash prize for a total prize package of $2500. The winner of the Under 18 category will receive a $500 gift certificate.

Entries must be submitted by April 1, 2008. The winner of My Home Revealed will be contacted in the third week of April, in order to make the travel arrangements to Online Revealed Canada. All video submissions become the property of Online Revealed Canada and may be used for promotional purposes.

The agenda for Online Revealed Canada includes over 25 speakers, workshop leaders, and Canadian travel professionals. With speakers from Yahoo!
