OnLive, Inc., Pioneer of Instant-Play, On-Demand Video Games, Chooses Luxembourg for European Expansion

LUXEMBOURG and PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwire - Jun 29, 2011) - The Luxembourg Minister for Communications and Media, François Biltgen, and the Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade, Jeannot Krecké, welcome the establishment of the European operations of US-based OnLive, Inc. in Luxembourg.

Headquartered in Palo Alto, California, this innovative company has implemented a cloud-based gaming platform that lets users play top-tier video games instantly on nearly every current internet-connected device, making video games more accessible for everyone.

OnLive has been recognized for achieving what long seemed impossible: delivering a high-quality gaming experience on demand over the internet, with no discs, downloads or high-end hardware required. Given the importance of very short latency times to ensure a real-time, seamless gaming experience, OnLive's cloud gaming solution is widely acknowledged as a groundbreaking technological success.

"When we first looked at expanding to Europe, we knew it would be key to be located centrally in order to minimize latency and cost. When comparing both the technological aspects and the business environment in European candidate countries, we rapidly came to the conclusion that Luxembourg made the most sense, in the short- and the long-term," said OnLive VP of Operations, Charlie Jablonski.

The Minister for Communications and Media welcomes OnLive's strategic decision to locate operations in Luxembourg. "This is further confirmation that the government's strategy towards the development of ultra high-speed Internet connections and state-of-the-art data centers effectively contributes to the deployment of new technologies and their distribution across Europe," says François Biltgen.

The Minister of the Economy and Foreign Trade added that "the efforts to promote Luxembourg as well as the systematic identification and discussions with potential investors have succeeded once again to position Luxembourg at the top of the international ICT scene."

OnLive EMEA SàRL was incorporated in Luxembourg on March 23, 2011. Their servers will be housed at the Luxconnect S.A. data center in Bettembourg. After a series of test runs, the European platform is expected to go live Autumn 2011.
