ONTARIO FEDERATION OF LABOUR JUNE 3RD RALLY AT QUEEN'S PARK

PUBLIC DOLLARS FOR PUBLIC SERVICES - NOT PROFITS Attention: Assignment Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - June 1, 2006) - "This rally is about saving our public services," said OFL president Wayne Samuelson. "On Saturday June 3rd union leaders, community activists, and representatives from many coalitions will be at Queen's Park to stop the McGuinty government from privatizing essential parts of our public services, like health care and education."

"The time to stop these private deals is now," Samuelson said. "Before it's too late."

"Privatizing public services is not good for working families. It won't make health care or education more efficient or cheaper," Samuelson said. "Cost will go up, quality will go down and user fees will increase. Companies will make profits from essential services like cancer care."

Union members and activists are coming from Brockville, Kingston, Peterborough, Orillia, Barrie, Toronto, Kitchener-Waterloo, Hamilton, Owen Sound, Lindsay, Cornwall and Orangeville to demand that public dollars be used for public services - not to support private profits.

The June 3rd Rally at Queen's Park starts at 1:00 p.m.
