Ontario International Airport Hosts "Southern California Law Enforcement Plane Pull 2006"

ONTARIO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 23, 2006 --

WHAT: Ontario International Airport (ONT) will host this year's "Southern California Law Enforcement Plane Pull 2006" benefiting Special Olympics of Southern California. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

This test of strength and endurance puts men and women against a 156,000 lb. machine as teams play tug-of-war with a FedEx 727 aircraft. Each team of 20, consisting of law enforcement officers, firefighters, power lifters and bodybuilders, corporate employees and college students, will have two attempts to pull the 727 a distance of 25 feet. The winners will receive prizes for fastest pull, slowest pull and most creative team t-shirt.

Since its inception in 1998, the "Plane Pull" is one of the most entertaining fundraising events for Special Olympics programs.
