Ontario Ministry of Health Designates 24 Clinics in the pt Health Community Clinic Network as OHIP Community Physiotherapy Centres

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Feb. 6, 2014) - Patients now have access to OHIP funded physiotherapy services within 24 pt Health physiotherapy clinics across Ontario.

Paul Moon, COO of pt Healthcare Solutions Corp, emphasizes the impact this will have on patients. "Our main goal is to reach out to patients to make sure they get the treatment they need to return to their daily activities as quickly, safely, and effectively as possible," says Moon. "When the OHIP funding model changed in August, we immediately submitted applications to the Ministry of Health. We're very pleased that so many of our clinics have been granted Community Physiotherapy Centre status."

Although some of pt Health's clinics are simply continuing to provide OHIP services, the clinics with new OHIP designations represent a significant change in their local community. "For example, one of our clinics will be working with a local hospital to treat the OHIP physiotherapy patients that the hospital is no longer able to treat. Working together with other healthcare providers in the community is always incredibly productive."

In several regions, patient access to services will be much easier. "In Eastern Ontario in particular, patients will now be able to get OHIP services at a pt Health clinic close to home," says Moon. "Our philosophy is that no one should have to travel a great distance to get the highest quality of care. Thanks to this new designation, OHIP patients won't have to."
