Ontario Plowmen's Association-International Plowing Match and Rural Expo: Day TWO in Review

ST. THOMAS, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 23, 2010) -

This is the second International Plowing Match (IPM) to be held in St. Thomas, Elgin County Ontario in 25 years and the number of visitors have shown their interest - the count is in for Tuesday, September 21, opening day of the IPM: 14,955 enthusiastic visitors and 1,752 students.

In Tented City Wednesday, the second day of the IPM, spectacular horse shows by the Canadian Cowgirls as well as 6 stages of entertainment and 600 tents with 500 exhibitors, artisans and vendors caught visitors' attention.

This is the 50th Anniversary of the Queen of the Furrow and Mrs. Lynda Prong, the first Queen of the Furrow who was crowned in 1960, at the IPM held in Elgin County was in the plowing field Wednesday. She joined the present Queen, Melissa Sparling as they each drove a tractor and plow turning furrows demonstrating their skills in support of the 33 young ladies competing for the title.

The 2010 IPM operates from 8:30am to 5:00pm, until Saturday September 25 just off #3 in St. Thomas, Ontario.
