WOODSTOCK, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 24, 2013) - The Ontario SPCA is seeking information regarding a grey domestic long-haired cat that was found in a state of distress with severe infections to its hind end.
The cat, who was found on September 13, 2013, had been missing from the Mill Street and Park Row area of Woodstock for approximately three days leading up to the incident.
It was determined by a veterinarian that the cat had sustained a cut on each testicle by a sharp blade through the scrotum. The cuts were symmetrically inflicted, leading to reasonable belief that the cuts were intentionally made.
Due to the severity of the infection and the slim chance of recovery, the owners had the cat humanely euthanized.
The veterinarian believes the incident would have taken place between Friday, September 6, 2013, and Monday, September 9, 2013.
"If you have any information on who may have carried out this cruel act, please contact us immediately so we can take appropriate actions," said Darren Grandel, Senior Inspector.
