Ontario Trucking Association Media Advisory: Training Minister to Make Important Announcement

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 17, 2005) - Ontario's Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, Chris Bentley, will make an important announcement about an innovative new approach to truck driver training on Friday November 18 at 8:00 a.m. The Minister's speech will take place at the Ontario Trucking Association's Annual Convention at the Toronto Congress Centre, 650 Dixon Road, Toronto Ontario in Hall A.

In addition to improving the quality of training available to new truck drivers, the new program that the Minister will announce will recognize, for the first time, that the profession of truck driver is in fact a skilled trade.

The media are invited to attend the Ministers' speech as well as a post speech photo opportunity as the Minister leaves to take a ride in a tractor-trailer to his home city of London.
