Ontario's NDP: McGuinty's Shifting Job Stats

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 13, 2007) - Dalton McGuinty's statistics get better every time he uses them. Earlier this year the McGuinty Liberals released a "progress report" that stated:

"More than 96 per cent of these new jobs are in OCCUPATIONS that pay, on average, more than $19.50 an hour."

But the stat keeps getting better:

"The province has gained 340,000 net new jobs since the Liberals took power four years ago, with over 95 per cent of them paying over $19.50 an hour."

The original stat proves very little - there's no guarantee that ANY of these new jobs actually pay more than $19.50 an hour. In fact, every new job could be paying less and simply fall below the average. Is that why it changed?
