Ooma Joins IntelePeer SuperRegistry and Global Voice Peering Network

IntelePeer Infrastructure Provides Dramatic Telecom Termination Cost Savings to Ooma With Expanded SuperRegistry Reach

DALLAS, TX--(Marketwire - September 14, 2010) -  IntelePeer Inc. (http://www.intelepeer.com/), a leader in the delivery of communications via cloud-based infrastructure, today announced that Ooma has joined the expanding IntelePeer SuperRegistry™ and is able to route calls over the IntelePeer Global Voice Peering Network to realize dramatic cost savings.

By joining the IntelePeer SuperRegistry and the IntelePeer Global Voice Peering Network, Ooma -- which markets a consumer electronics device that provides free U.S. telephone calling and advanced telephony services to customers worldwide -- gains a single point of interconnection that aggregates more than 416 million telephone number destinations, extends native IP transport and generates significant cost savings. Further, Ooma customers will become additional end-point destinations accessible to other SuperRegistry participants, now numbering over 50 service providers.

The IntelePeer SuperRegistry is an advanced, carrier-grade numbering and routing database that efficiently exchanges traffic and provides optimal cost and quality call routing to individual 10-digit telephone number destinations between trusted service providers and VoIP communities in a secure manner. By routing calls through IntelePeer's infrastructure, Ooma eliminates the need for multiple network interconnections while keeping calls on IP connections, maintaining its high voice quality and preserving advanced media features that would otherwise be degraded through multiple network handoffs in legacy networks to complete calls.

"Consumers continue to embrace the Ooma system because of its ease of use, excellent call quality and considerable cost savings," said Toby Farrand, vice president of engineering operations at Ooma. "By joining the IntelePeer SuperRegistry and routing calls through its infrastructure, we extend the quality of service and ensure seamless worldwide connections to any traditional landline, mobile telephone or VoIP soft phone while further reducing our telecommunications expenses. It's an important step in offering a free home phone service to our customers."

"Our partnership with Ooma reinforces the core value of our SuperRegistry and global voice peering network," said Frank Fawzi, IntelePeer chairman and CEO. "As additional service providers such as Ooma join our peering grid, the value to all participants grows exponentially with our expanding network, enabling us to offer the highest voice quality while further reducing transport costs."
