Open Energy Corporation's SolarSave™ Roofing Membranes Achieve Underwriter's Laboratory (UL) Safety Listing and Class A Fire Rating

Certification Clears the Way for Delivery on $4 Million in Pending Orders

SOLANA BEACH, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 10, 2006 -- Open Energy Corporation (OTCBB: OEGY), a renewable energy company focused on the design and manufacturing of solar energy products, announced today that its SolarSave™ SP 480 Roofing Membrane product has received the prestigious UL 1703 listing, the American National Standard for safety for photovoltaic modules and panels. In addition, the SolarSave™ membranes were awarded a 790 Class A fire rating, the highest possible rating for fire resistance.

Don Rogers, Executive Vice President, stated: "These two certifications represent a very important development for Open Energy and provide the highest level of validation for the safety and performance of our solar roofing membrane products. Our SolarSave™ Roofing Membranes are now fully endorsed for use and we are moving immediately to fill the large backlog of pending orders. We have received significant interest from the commercial and residential architectural and building community for these products. We are pleased to now be in a position to actively meet and grow that demand."

The tests for the critical fire resistance rating were conducted at the Northbrook, Illinois fire testing facility, and involved shooting a 1400 degree temperature, four foot wide flame at the SolarSave™ Roofing Membrane for a period of 10 minutes. By achieving the Class A fire rating, Open Energy is now able to proceed with production and delivery of its current $4 million backlog of orders for SolarSave™ Membranes.

Open Energy's solar roofing membranes integrate the photovoltaic modules directly into the roofing system, resulting in an aesthetically pleasing product that is easily incorporated into projects by architects, designers, builders and contractors. The SolarSave™ Roofing Membrane solution is setting a whole new standard in the solar roofing industry.

Open Energy's SolarSave™ Membranes are a building-integrated solar roofing system created for both new construction and re-roofing projects on commercial, industrial and residential buildings. SolarSave™ Membranes encapsulate crystalline solar cells in high-performance composite materials laminated under vacuum pressure to create lightweight, waterproof, fire rated and aesthetically appealing solar applications.
