Open Source Leaders Andy Astor and Anthony Gold Join Bluenog's Board of Directors

Industry Veterans Bring Open Source and Business Expertise to Leader in Integrated ECM, Portal, and BI Software

PISCATAWAY, NJ--(Marketwire - November 18, 2008) - Bluenog, an enterprise software and solutions company, today announced that enterprise open source software veterans Andy Astor and Anthony Gold have joined Bluenog's board of directors. Astor is co-founder and executive vice president of business development of EnterpriseDB, the world's leading provider of enterprise-class products and services based on the open source PostgreSQL database. Anthony Gold is vice president and general manager of open source business at Unisys Corporation (NYSE: UIS), and he founded and leads Unisys' global open source practice. Earlier this year, LinuxWorld Magazine named both Astor and Gold two of the "Top Leaders in Open Source Business."

Astor and Gold join Bluenog's three co-founders, Scott Barnett, Suresh Kuppasamy and Sastry Taravai, and Mike DiPiano and Michael Poisel on Bluenog's board of directors. The new directors will help to guide Bluenog as it continues to enhance Bluenog ICE, its integrated suite of content management, portal, and business intelligence software. Biographies of the company's entire leadership team are available at

"I'm pleased to welcome Andy and Anthony to Bluenog's board of directors," said Kuppusamy, chief executive officer, Bluenog. "Their experiences working with both open source and proprietary technology will be invaluable. We continue to innovate in areas that allow our customers integration options they didn't have previously. Andy and Anthony's background in both commercial and open source technology solutions make them ideal additions to our team."

Astor has championed the support of independent open source communities, including PostgreSQL, and hybrid open source business models since 2004. As founding CEO, Astor led EnterpriseDB's growth from start-up to hundreds of customers in less than three years. Prior to co-founding EnterpriseDB in 2004, Astor was a vice president at webMethods, where he led the company's open source, standards, and Web services strategies. He also held positions at Dun and Bradstreet, Magna Software, American Management Systems, and Ernst & Young. He holds an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a B.A. from Clark University.

Gold established Unisys' open source software and services business, from the original business plan to strategies for engineering, marketing, channel development, training, sales, delivery, and support. Today, Unisys is one of the largest systems integrators in the open source space. Previously, Gold was a vice president and the general manager of the enterprise solutions business systems and technology group at Unisys, where he ran the hardware engineering organization, which invented the ES7000, the world's first Intel mainframe. He is also a board member of the Open Solutions Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on addressing the challenges of business solution interoperability. He received his B.S.E.E. from Drexel University.
