Opengear Hires Security Executive as VP of Product Management and CMO


NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Oct 5, 2011) - Opengear (www.opengear.com), provider of next generation console server and remote management solutions, today announced the hiring of John Bedrick as chief marketing officer and vice president of product management.

Bedrick brings deep expertise across all aspects of enterprise security, including authentication, encryption, firewall, identity/access management and intrusion detection/prevention. Before joining Opengear, Bedrick served chief marketing and technology officer (CMTO) at CryptoMill Technologies. Previously, he was senior director, strategic marketing and new market development of security at Seagate Technology and director of identity/access at Microsoft, as well as product line director for network equipment and security strategy at Intel Corporation.
