  • This investment enabled the event's promoting organization, Sommet international du coopératisme, to carry out activities to promote the 2014 International Summit of Cooperatives outside Quebec and to help finance the logistical and technical aspects of the Forum's organization.
  • The event is expected to draw thousands of participants from as many as 100 countries to the Québec City area from October 6 to 9, 2014.
  • Canada has more than 9,000 cooperatives and savings and credit unions, 3,300 of which are located in Quebec. Together, these organizations employ some 156,000 people, 60% of them here in the province.
