OpenSky Names Former Metlife CISO as New Vice President and Chief Security Officer

Appointment Will Enhance Security Services to Major Enterprises

TOLLAND, CT--(Marketwired - April 15, 2014) - OpenSky Corporation and TÜV Rheinland have named Jesus "Laz" Montano as Vice President and Chief Security Officer to continue to evolve its IT Security consulting services for major enterprises. OpenSky Corporation is an IT consulting firm focused on Transformational IT Infrastructure, Security and Compliance. Montano brings 25 years of experience managing corporate infrastructures and security programs, especially in the areas of risk management and security, as well as governance, risk and compliance.

"As one of the most highly regarded security executives in the country, Mr. Montano brings a wealth of first-hand knowledge about the challenges that are top of mind for major enterprises across the globe," said John O'Connell, OpenSky Chairman.

Most recently, Montano served as the Chief Information Security Officer at MetLife, a Fortune 50 company where he was accountable for the creation and maintenance of the security infrastructure, information security policy, risk assessments, and incident response programs. His responsibilities spanned 46 countries and 70,000 employees with more than 1,300 applications to serve 90 million customers. While at MetLife, Laz was named a finalist for Executive of the Year in the 2009 ISE Awards.

In 2013 in response to the emerging cyber threats, Montano worked closely with the Department of Homeland Security, other Federal agencies and the Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Center (FS-ISAC) organization to establish a formal collaboration cybersecurity program.

"Companies are managing complex IT ecosystems and require vigilant security focus to prevent them from making front page news for the wrong reason," said Montano when asked how his first-hand experience as an IT executive has prepared him for his new role. "I understand the executive's challenges to staying ahead of daily evolving threats and will work with the experts at OpenSky to provide the valuable support for today's security leaders."

As CSO at OpenSky, Montano's primary focus will be on utilizing the specialized skills and experience of expert security consultants to help executives understand technology trends and how they can leverage new technologies in their specific enterprise.

Mr. Montano's notable positions include Group Information Security at Citigroup, where he oversaw governance, policy and oversight with the business in 16 countries. While at Travelers, Mr. Montano's security responsibilities spanned over a dozen countries. He maintains two certifications from Information Systems Audit & Control Association (ISACA) -- Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT).
