OpenSky, a TUV Rheinland Company, Recognized Nationally for Flexibility in the Workplace

Receives Second Consecutive Alfred P. Sloan When Work Works Award

HARTFORD, CT--(Marketwired - September 24, 2014) - OpenSky, a TÜV Rheinland Company, is an IT consulting firm focused on transformational Infrastructure, Security and Compliance, has received the When Work Works Award for the second consecutive year. This national award recognizes companies for their use of effective workplace strategies to increase employee and business success. The workplace flexibility award compliments OpenSky's recent placement on its fourth consecutive Top Workplace Award for companies headquartered in Connecticut.

"The founding partners have always shared the belief that our quality is in our people," stated Roger Levasseur, President and CEO of OpenSky. "We are in the best position to serve the needs of our clients when our employees are able to achieve a sustainable work-life balance and this award is proof that our values are reflected in our everyday culture."

This prestigious award is part of the national When Work Works project administered by the Families and Work Institute (FWI) and the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The final winners are the result of a rigorous assessment. Worksites are evaluated on six research-based ingredients of an effective workplace including: opportunities for learning; a culture of trust; work-life fit; supervisor support for work success; autonomy; and satisfaction with earnings, benefits and opportunities for advancement -- all factors associated with employee health, well-being, and engagement. Employers must first qualify in the top 20% of the country based on a nationally representative sample of employers. Two-thirds of the evaluation of applicants comes from an employee survey.

"The When Work Works Award recognizes organizations that foster a culture of workplace flexibility and effectiveness, which gives them a competitive advantage. Their practices set them apart from other organizations," said Lisa Horn, director of SHRM's Workplace Flexibility Initiative.
