OPSEU: Home Care Workers to Tell Their Own Stories Adjacent to CCAC Debrief

HAMILTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 19, 2007) - Home care staff in the Hamilton area will conduct their own debrief of the competitive bidding process Thursday.

While their employers are told by the Community Care Access Centre why they were knocked out of the tendering process to supply home nursing care in the region, their workers will be down the hall of the same hotel speaking about what the process means to them.

The stories will be recorded for a video to be sent to all Ontario MPPs to draw their attention to the human resources crisis that is about to take place in the sector.

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union is asking the province to place a freeze on the awarding of new home care contracts until employment protections are put in place for home care workers.

When: December 20, 2007 - 10 am - 4 pm

Where: Courtyard Marriott Hotel, 1224 Upper James Street, Hamilton
