OPSEU-Media Advisory: 10th Anniversary of Repetitive Stress Injury Awareness Day In Toronto

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 26, 2009) -

Friday Feb. 27 marks the 10th anniversary of International Repetitive Stress Injury (RSI) Awareness Day.

In the period 1996-2004 more than 3 million work days were lost to RSI. This cost the Ontario economy was close to $400 million in lost wages and productivity.

In Toronto on Feb. 27, the media are invited to join a meeting of injured workers, health and safety professionals, labour groups and public policy experts to learn how the introduction of ergonomic regulations in Ontario's labour laws can reduce the number of people who suffer from this physical illness.
