Optaros' Eckman to Join Social-Commerce Roundtable at PluggedIn Ventures eCommerce Summit

BOSTON, MA--(Marketwire - December 14, 2010) - John Eckman, senior practice director at Optaros, an ecommerce solution provider, will participate in the social-commerce roundtable at the PluggedIn Ventures eCommerce Summit on Dec. 21, 2010, at Greenhill SAVP in New York.

The Summit is designed to bring together ecommerce leaders and innovators to share ideas, best practices and upcoming industry trends. The event consists of four roundtables, covering social commerce, mobile commerce, group commerce and ecommerce.

Social-commerce roundtable participants will discuss how retailers can use social experiences and relevant content to increase customer engagement and online sales. Companies represented include: OpenSky, SocialAmp, dotBox, MyNines and Digitas.

"Consumers expect to find useful information, engage with friends and buy items from a brand or retailer seamlessly -- no matter where on the web interactions take place," said Eckman. "As a result, there's currently a lot of innovation specifically focused on how to realize truly 'social' commerce, using community and content to drive commerce experiences. The social-commerce roundtable should prove to be an exciting discussion."

Registration for the eCommerce Summit is available through Dec. 21 at the PluggedIn Ventures website. For updates throughout the event, follow @Optaros and @JEckman on Twitter.
